Parents & the “I Care” Parent Engagement Character Curriculum Model
We believe that parents are the missing link in character development programs. Research is clear about the positive impact of parent involvement and how it contributes to the development of character, increases academic achievement, and improves attitudes and behaviors. Parents who complete the monthly “I Care” activities significantly increase the amount of time they are involved with their child, as well as the quality of that involvement.
Role of Parents
- Attend annual "I Care" Curriculum Trainings
- Complete the five provided “I Care” character-building activities with their child each month.
- Send the Parent Feedback Form to the school indicating how many of the activities they did, and document five activities self-initiated with their child at the end of each month
